Microsoft schedules October 7 Windows and Surface event

Microsoft announced a Windows and Surface event on October 7 in San Francisco, Engadget reported on 16 September 2026.

Engadget said Microsoft has not held a major public event in more than two years.

The report says the event will focus on local AI on Windows PCs and will include updates on Windows, the Surface Laptop Ultra and the Nvidia RTX Spark.

Engadget says Microsoft is expected to announce the availability and pricing of the Surface Laptop Ultra.

Engadget also reported that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Microsoft Executive Vice President of Windows and Devices Pavan Davuluri and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang are said to be attending.

The Surface Laptop Ultra was unveiled in June.
