Motorola Signature 27 previews 200MP LYTIA camera, B&O

Motorola has released a first look at the rear of its upcoming high-end phone, the Signature 27, ahead of a formal introduction at the Snapdragon Summit later today. The teaser emphasizes a distinctive rear design and a focus on camera and audio features.

Distinctive rear design and camera island

The Signature 27 is the follow-up to the original Signature that launched in India in January. Teaser images show a large, asymmetric camera island that occupies a significant portion of the back panel. The layout departs from the typical square or stacked vertical modules used on many flagships, presenting a deliberately different aesthetic.

Camera hardware teased: 200MP LYTIA, zoom and Dolby Vision

Motorola has shared a teaser video on the Motorola US X account that highlights several camera capabilities. The company has shown:

• 200MP resolution
• 100x "SUPER ZOOM"
• Sony LYTIA sensor
• Dolby Vision support

Motorola and accompanying materials identify Sony’s LYTIA-branded 200MP sensor as the LYTIA 901 (LYT-901), which measures 1/1.12". That sensor is notably larger than the 1/1.3" 200MP ISOCELL HP2 used in the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Combined with the unusual camera housing, Motorola’s teasers signal that photography is a major focus for the Signature 27.

Audio partnership and launch details

Motorola is also announcing a global audio partnership with Bang & Olufsen. For the first time, the company’s premium phones will carry "Audio by Bang & Olufsen" branding. Full technical and tuning details for speakers remain under wraps; the expectation is improved sound for media, calls, and other uses.

For context, the original Motorola Signature featured a 6.8" 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, a 50MP triple rear camera setup plus a 50MP front camera capable of 8K Dolby Vision at 30fps, and a 5,200mAh battery with 90W wired and 10W wireless charging.

The Signature 27 is launching today, September 22, in the US and Europe; India is listed as "coming soon."
