Motorola brings Qira AI to more phones with Android 17

Motorola is expanding the availability of Qira, its shared personal AI assistant co-developed with parent company Lenovo, by rolling the assistant out to additional Motorola smartphones with the Android 17 update.

Rollout and eligible Motorola models

The company confirmed on 22 September 2026 that Qira will arrive on more handsets as part of the Android 17 update. Qira was introduced at CES and has been available on some Lenovo devices; it first appeared on Motorola with the Edge 70 Max. Motorola says the rollout will be limited to phones in the Signature, Razr, and Edge series.

Qira features and cross-device behaviour

Motorola bills Qira as a "single AI experience that spans across Motorola and Lenovo products." The company describes the assistant as able to help with "a variety of tasks" and to "enhance content for both work and play across devices." Users can interact with Qira by voice or text and can send it photos and videos.

• Transcribe and summarize conversations
• Surface suggestions and set reminders
• Create images, stickers, avatars, and wallpapers (for example from a photo of a pattern)
• Summarize notifications and complete tasks on the user’s behalf

Motorola says these capabilities work across Lenovo and Motorola devices, with relevant context not being lost when you switch between them.
