Xiaomi expanded its tablet lineup in China with two new models, the Pad 9 Pro and the smaller Pad 9, announced alongside the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. The new tablets join the Pad 9 Pro Max that debuted earlier this month and bring faster displays, larger batteries, and newer wireless standards to the series.
The larger Pad 9 Pro sports a 12.5-inch LCD with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 3.2K resolution. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage. Camera hardware includes a 50MP primary rear camera and a 32MP front camera. Battery capacity is 11,000mAh, and the tablet supports 67W wired fast charging.
The Pad 9 is slightly smaller with an 11.2-inch display, although with the same specs as the larger Pro model. Under the hood it uses a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC and offers the same RAM and storage options as the Pro. Camera setups differ: the Pad 9 has a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. Its battery is 9,720mAh and it supports 45W fast charging. Both tablets offer reverse wired charging.
Both models share several platform and convenience features: a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and quad speakers tuned for Dolby Atmos. Connectivity and audio are clearly a focus across the range.
Pricing and configurations
The Pad 9 Pro starts at CNY 3,799 (USD 565) for the 8GB/128GB version. The 8GB/256GB option is CNY 4,099 (USD 610, and a 12GB/256GB model is CNY 4,599 (USD 685). Xiaomi also lists a 12GB/256GB variant with a matte screen and a top-of-the-line 16GB RAM model priced at CNY 4,999 (USD 745). Color options for the Pad 9 Pro are Black, Silver, and Spruce Green.
The Pad 9 is priced from CNY 2,999 (USD 450) for the 8GB/128GB variant. The 8GB/256GB model is CNY 3,299 (USD 490), an 8GB/256GB soft light edition is CNY 3,499 (USD 520), and the 12GB/256GB configuration is CNY 3,799 (USD 565). The Pad 9 is offered in Black, Ice Peach Pink, Silver, and Spruce Green.
