The AutoYa Interior YouTube channel has published unofficial CGI renders that imagine the next-generation GMC Sierra Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500 arriving in 2027 or 2028, showing upscale exterior and interior colorways and the brand's latest corporate styling cues.

GM powertrain updates and market context

General Motors has acknowledged, via an executive cited in a report, that demand for full-size and heavy-duty pickups and for large SUVs may soften because of higher gasoline and diesel prices. Despite that, GM introduced the all-new 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 2027 GMC Sierra 1500 earlier this year and has announced a suite of new engines that will carry across its truck range.

  • New base V8 for light-duty models rated at 350 horsepower.
  • L76 5.7-liter V8, 402 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque; trucks with this engine can be configured for a maximum towing capacity of up to 13,700 pounds.
  • L78 6.6-liter V8, 481 horsepower and 501 lb-ft of torque.
  • New 8.3-liter L6P Duramax turbo diesel V8, nicknamed Mongoose, advertised at 555 horsepower and 1,230 lb-ft of torque; GM positions this engine to compete directly with Ford's Scorpion V8 and reports say these figures eclipse the Ford 6.7-liter V8 High Output Power Stroke.

GM has indicated these powertrains will be part of its strategy across light-duty and heavy-duty trucks; the manufacturer has said the HD models will receive the new L6P diesel option.

Unreleased Sierra HD 2500/3500 CGI renders from AutoYa

The renders on the "AutoYa Interior" channel present an unofficial vision of the sixth-generation GMC Sierra HD 2500 and 3500. According to the channel host, the next Sierra HD is expected to follow the 2027 Sierra 1500 and could arrive in 2027 or 2028. The visualization applies the new corporate design language used on the Sierra 1500, including a potential switch to a new "7" lighting signature and a completely redesigned, screen-heavy interior.

The virtual artist on the channel compares the proposed design with the outgoing model, and showcases multiple premium exterior paint options and a range of upscale interior color themes. The presentation is an independent, hypothetical design exercise and is not a factory release or an official preview from General Motors.
