Polar has introduced a more affordable American variant of its Grit X2 Pro smartwatch, packing advanced health sensors and an emphasis on long battery life. The new Grit X2 keeps many premium features from the Pro model while aiming squarely at athletes and fitness-focused users who want accurate monitoring without the higher price tag.

The Grit X2 sports a 1.28-inch AMOLED display with a 416 × 416 resolution, protected by sapphire glass and offering automatic brightness plus an always-on option. Polar equips the watch with dual-frequency GPS compatible with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou and QZSS for reliable route tracking even in challenging environments. Offline maps and turn-by-turn navigation are available through Komoot, and 32 GB of onboard storage means you can keep routes and data locally.

At the center of the Grit X2 is Polar’s Elixir sensor platform. That sensor suite enables on-wrist ECG readings, SpO2 (blood oxygen) measurement, skin temperature monitoring and fourth-generation heart rate tracking. Motion and environmental awareness come from an accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer and compass, all feeding data that improves activity recognition and situational accuracy.

Polar bundles many of its signature software features into the Grit X2. FitSpark delivers daily training suggestions, Recovery Pro monitors readiness and recovery, and FuelWise offers nutrition reminders during long efforts. The watch also reads running power from the wrist and provides comprehensive sleep tracking with Nightly Recharge, Sleep Plus Stages and SleepWise analytics—useful for athletes tuning training load against recovery.
Battery life, connectivity and availability
Under the hood is a 310 mAh battery: Polar rates it up to 30 hours in full-performance GPS mode, up to 90 hours in power-saving GPS mode, and up to seven days in typical daily use. Connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.1 and charging via a dedicated USB-C cable. The Grit X2 is offered in a 44.7 mm black case and is priced at $800 in the U.S.
