Just when the show felt untouchable, Invincible drops another curveball. Jack Quaid has signed on to voice a new antagonist in season five: Gravitator, an ingenious engineer whose skills eventually tip into criminality.
The casting was unveiled at Prime Video’s exclusive Annecy panel, where Robert Kirkman—executive producer and co-showrunner—introduced Quaid and revealed the first official image of the character. The announcement followed earlier notes from the series’ social accounts confirming a 2027 release window for season five.
Gravitator isn’t a throwaway name. Expect tech-forward schemes and moral friction. Quaid’s addition promises a fresh vocal edge to the roster, and the panel framed the character as someone whose intellect becomes his undoing. Short fuse. Big consequences.

In a move that signals Prime Video’s confidence, Kirkman and Melissa Wolf also announced a season six renewal during the same presentation—even before season five hits screens. With that renewal, Invincible becomes Prime Video’s longest-running animated series.
Critics have largely loved the ride. Rotten Tomatoes currently gives the series a 99% critics’ rating overall: season one landed at 98%, while seasons two through four each scored a perfect 100%. Audiences are on board too, with a 90% viewer score—a rare blend of critical praise and popular enthusiasm for a superhero animation.
Details remain deliberately sparse: who will Gravitator align with, or against? How will his tech reshape the show’s power dynamics? We’ll find out as the release schedule tightens and more casting and story beats leak out of production. Until then, fans have reason to be curious—and a little nervous.
