A grainy Instagram snap, a director's chair and suddenly a fan-favorite room is back in the spotlight.
Life Is Strange began as a 2015 narrative adventure from Dontnod Entertainment and Square Enix, and it never treated choices as window dressing. Time-bending powers, emotional fractures, and decisions that ripple into multiple endings—those are the series’ DNA. Now Amazon MGM is translating that DNA into a live-action show, and production is already rolling in Vancouver.
Filming has kicked off and is expected to run through roughly October. Short message. Big implication. When Silas Howard, one of the episode directors, posted a simple photo of his director’s chair on Instagram, eagle-eyed fans noticed more than a credit—behind the chair, a set piece unmistakably resembled Chloe’s kitchen.

Chloe Elizabeth Price is the franchise’s blue-haired, bruised-heart anchor. According to production notes, Mazi Stella will step into Chloe’s shoes, while Taitum Grace Hopkins is attached to play Maxine Caulfield, the playable protagonist whose loyalty to Chloe drives much of the story. That kitchen isn’t just décor; it’s a scene-stealer. The tense showdown with Chloe’s stepfather David in episode one takes place there, a moment that cements Max’s stance and echoes through the game’s emotional core.
No release date has been announced yet. Still, the scope of the shoot and the careful recreation of key locations have many observers penciling in a late-2027 premiere. Can a live-action series capture the intimate, choice-driven tension that made the games resonate? Fans will be watching every set photo and casting announcement for clues.
