Box-office history tends to move in chapters. Every so often a single film rips out a page and writes its own headline. Spider-Man: Brand New Day has done just that.
In the United States the film rocketed past the $700 million mark faster than any movie ever has, hitting $704.5 million domestically as of Wednesday and vaulting into seventh place on the all-time North American list. That speed—an almost frantic rush to a milestone many thought untouchable—says as much about audience hunger as it does about the film itself.
Across the rest of the world the picture is just as striking. Brand New Day has earned $1.108 billion internationally, edging past Spider-Man: No Way Home’s $1.106 billion to become Sony’s biggest overseas performer. Globally, the movie sits around $1.812 billion and is breathing down the neck of No Way Home’s 1.9 billion-dollar haul.
Brand New Day is now Sony's top international grosser and a global juggernaut—proof that Spider-Man's appeal remains unstoppable.

How did it get here? Star power, yes. Tom Holland is still the anchor, carrying the familiar threaded-wire mix of humor and heartbreak. Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney and Jon Bernthal add weight and texture. Director Destin Daniel Cretton gives the film a taut emotional center. But there are other ingredients: a massive marketing push, theaters open and eager audiences returning in force, and an opening weekend that felt seismic.
The domestic launch alone—$360 million in that first weekend—overtook the opening record previously held by Avengers: Endgame and marked the biggest opening in U.S. box-office history. From there the film kept momentum, posting one of the fastest paths to a $1 billion global total in cinematic memory.
Made by Marvel Studios with producer Amy Pascal and a reported production budget near $225 million, Brand New Day follows Peter Parker as he emerges from a period of isolation only to find himself tracked down by an unknown threat. It’s a classic hero’s arc, but told at blockbuster scale and with an emotional bluntness that has clearly resonated.
Is No Way Home still the peak for Spider-Man, or will Brand New Day rewrite the record books yet again? The race is on—and the stands are full.
