Samsung schedules One UI 9 for S25 and Z7 on Sept 28

Samsung Thailand said Samsung will roll out One UI 9 to the Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z7 foldables on 28 September 2026.

Samsung began rolling out One UI 9 to the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra on 16 September 2026. The S26 FE shipped with One UI 9 out of the box, the company said.

The global Samsung press release noted which models will receive the Privacy Alerts feature but did not provide a schedule for older devices, the statement said.

Samsung Thailand listed the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S25 Edge among the devices due the update on 28 September. It also named the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy S25 FE for the same date.

The press release added that the update will continue to reach the Galaxy S23 FE by October 2026. The S23 FE was promised four major OS updates when it launched with Android 13, so Samsung and industry trackers expect this to be its last major update, the company said. The same update limit applies to other Galaxy S23 models, though they were not named in the release.

The Galaxy S22 series already received its last major update, Android 16 with One UI 8, but Samsung continues to issue quarterly security patches for those models.
