UBTech opens Liuzhou factory to build 10,000 humanoids

Chinese robotics company UBTech opened a factory in Liuzhou with an annual production capacity of 10,000 humanoid robots, roughly one robot every ten minutes.

The facility is in Liuzhou in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and will concentrate on the Walker S and Cruzr series.

Inside the plant, humanoid robots and smart machines perform much of the assembly and logistics, reducing the number of human workers compared with a conventional factory. Human operators remain on site but are largely in skilled roles rather than basic positions such as drivers.

Cruzr Y1 and Cruzr S2 units unload and move payloads to other locations within the factory.

Other automated machines place components rapidly during the assembly process to form final products.

UBTech previously said it developed the world’s first fully automated 3D warehouse. Company managers say China’s strong supply chain has allowed them to advance faster than rivals under their control.

According to China’s National Bureau of Statistics, about 635,000 humanoid robots were produced in the country from the start of the year through July, a 28 percent increase year-on-year.
