Apple CEO John Ternus Owns Rare Porsche 935 at Laguna Seca

Apple CEO John Ternus owns a 2019 Porsche 935 and, according to reports, has taken the car to Laguna Seca, recording laps under one minute 40 seconds.

The 2019 Porsche 935 is a modern reinterpretation of the 1970s race car. Porsche produced 77 examples worldwide, with a stated base price at launch of $800,000.

The 935 is engineered from the 911 GT2 RS. Its full carbon fiber body brings the car's dry weight to about 1,380 kilograms.

The mid-rear mounted 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six claims 700 horsepower and 750 newton metres of torque.

Reports say Ternus ran the car at Laguna Seca and posted sub-1:40 lap times; those reports describe the times as notable given his responsibilities at Apple.

Ternus’s ownership and active track use underline a long-standing interest in motorsport. There is no evidence that Apple plans any direct involvement in Formula One.
