OnePlus 16 design, color choices and China lineup revealed

OnePlus has officially revealed the OnePlus 16's external design, color options and the RAM and storage configurations that will be offered in China, and the phone is already open for pre-reservation there. The company did not announce a launch date, and it said only that the handset will support a system-wide 165Hz refresh rate.

Appearance, finishes and availability

The OnePlus 16 will look largely identical to its predecessor, the OnePlus 15, but OnePlus confirmed three color options. Dark Forest uses a black finish, Mars Masterpiece is a light orange, and Tomorrow Starlight is a grey. OnePlus says the Mars Masterpiece and Tomorrow Starlight variants will feature a distinct pattern on the rear panel.

OnePlus has made the device available for pre-reservation in China through its official online store. The company posted these details on 21 September 2026, with a byline attributed to Siddharth. No European or global pricing or launch dates were provided.

Configurations and known features

In China the OnePlus 16 will be offered in four memory and storage configurations: 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, 12GB with 512GB, 16GB with 512GB, and 16GB with 1TB. Beyond the configurations, OnePlus has confirmed the phone will support a system-wide 165Hz refresh rate, meaning the display can refresh up to 165 times per second for smoother motion across the interface.

The company has not published a full specification sheet. Industry reports and leaks list several rumored components: a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, a 200MP primary rear camera, a 9,000mAh battery and a 6.78-inch AMOLED display. These items are described as rumors and have not been confirmed by OnePlus.
