Galaxy S27 Pro, Ultra could get LPDDR6 and UFS 5.1

A Korean report says Samsung plans to equip the Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro with LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.1 storage, but those upgrades may be limited to higher RAM and storage tiers rather than applying across each model.

The same source adds that the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27 Plus are unlikely to adopt the new memory and storage standards. A separate rumor from a few days earlier suggested Samsung was considering LPDDR5X for the S27 and S27 Plus instead of LPDDR6.

According to the leaked configurations attributed to that source, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is listed in three options: 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, 12GB RAM with 512GB storage, and 16GB RAM with 1TB storage. The Galaxy S27 Pro is reported as 12GB RAM with 256GB, 12GB RAM with 512GB, and 12GB RAM with 1TB. The Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus are shown with two options each: 12GB RAM with 256GB and 12GB RAM with 512GB.

The leak notes that the vanilla Galaxy S27 will start at 256GB, while the S27 Plus and S27 Ultra would retain the same storage tiers as their predecessors. The Pro model apparently inherits a 1TB option from the Ultra but pairs that capacity exclusively with 12GB of RAM.

None of these details are confirmed by Samsung and should be treated as unverified rumor.

Battery and charging certification

A recent certification filed in China lists battery capacities and charging support for the higher-end models: the Galaxy S27 Pro is shown with a 5,200 mAh battery and the Galaxy S27 Ultra with a 5,700 mAh battery. Both entries indicate support for 60W wired charging.
