Bentley Torcal EV: 876 hp flagship with 113-kWh pack

Bentley has unveiled the Torcal, its first production electric model and what the company says is its most powerful series-production Bentley to date. Announced in material published 23 Sep 2026, the Torcal is derived from the Porsche Cayenne Electric and joins the internal-combustion Bentayga in Bentley's SUV range. The Torcal S is Bentley's peak variant, quoted at 888 ps by the company and producing 876 mechanical horsepower with 996 pound-feet of torque, and it covers 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.8 seconds.

Design and interior

Design director Robin Page and his team reduced the Torcal's footprint compared with the Bentayga, making it 4.7 inches (120 millimeters) shorter overall with a roofline 2.0 inches (50 millimeters) lower over the rear seats, while retaining the same wheelbase as the Porsche Cayenne Electric. From the A-pillars rearward, Bentley describes muscular haunches, a tapering cabin and thin canted rear glass as creating a "resting beast" silhouette, and the rear shield motif references the EXP 15 concept.

The front end departs from that cohesion. Bentley fitted an illuminated grille with a diamond-like pattern behind a clear cover, a detail that has divided opinion, and rectangular headlamps flank a chrome-ringed crystal lattice that the company cites as inspired by the Continental T of the 1990s. Bentley acknowledges the reference; observers note the grille reads as an ornament applied to the fascia rather than appearing integral to it.

Inside, the Torcal carries a wing-inspired dashboard and Bentley's interpretation of the Flow Display introduced on the Cayenne Electric. Traditional details such as knurled controls and bullseye air vents have been reinterpreted for a digital environment. Front seats offer 16-way adjustment plus heating, ventilation and massage, and the rear bench seats three passengers while introducing a power-fold system never before fitted to a Bentley. A Frosted Diamond switchable-glass panoramic sunroof provides a dimmable element, and there is intentionally no passenger-facing screen so materials remain a focus.

Material choices include what Bentley describes as the world's first 100 percent Merino wool automotive fabric, developed with Somerset weaver Fox Brothers, Ombre Walnut veneer made from up to 1,000 layers of walnut cut-off and recycled paper, and a Mulliner Sunburst Aluminum finish that echoes engine-turned panels of the past.

Chassis, tech and powertrain

The Torcal's suspension is fully active with two-valve dampers and no anti-roll bars; Bentley says roll stiffness is generated through the dampers rather than traditional anti-roll bars. Rear steering provides up to five degrees of angle and reduces the turning circle to 36.4 feet (11.1 meters). A 25-sensor ADAS suite can automatically reverse and park the vehicle in certain scenarios. Convenience and security features include four radar-controlled power doors that self-open and self-close, with closing triggered by the brake pedal or seatbelt, facial recognition to load driver preferences, phone-as-key functionality, and audio options ranging from a 16-speaker system up to a 28-speaker Naim package.

Both Torcal versions use a pair of permanent magnet synchronous motors, one on each axle. Bentley describes the front motor as paired with an open differential while the rear output shafts use a locking arrangement with a multi-plate clutch on each side. The standard Torcal core model is quoted at 810 horsepower, with Bentley claiming a top speed of 150 miles per hour (250 kilometers per hour). The Torcal S delivers its full 876 horsepower when launch control is active and is electronically limited to 162 miles per hour (260 kilometers per hour).

The battery pack comprises 192 pouch cells for a stated capacity of 113 kWh; Bentley provides a WLTP range estimate of 600 kilometers (375 miles). The vehicle supports up to 400 kilowatt DC charging. Brakes are iron discs as standard; an optional carbon-silicon-carbide system upgrades the front rotors from 420 to 440 millimeters.

Pricing in the United Kingdom starts at 173,330 pounds sterling, a figure Bentley says positions the Torcal below the Bentayga in its line-up. In the United States, the Torcal will be delivered with a NACS charging port rather than an adapter.
