A new poster for the live-action Street Fighter film has arrived — and it does more than sell tickets. It hints at tone, lineage, and a bold visual choice that might surprise long-time fans.
After a short teaser last year, the full trailer made its way to CinemaCon 2026 where it leaned hard on three marquee figures: Chun-Li, Ken Masters, and Ryu. The trailer gives them center stage, but it doesn’t stop there; filmmakers quietly slipped a lineup of other familiar fighters into the mix, a nod to the game’s sprawling roster that should please anyone who grew up with the arcade cabinets.
What stands out most are the flashbacks. Instead of relying solely on live-action footage, the film uses hand-drawn two-dimensional animation to visualize the pasts of Ryu and Ken. The Los Angeles studio Titmouse produced those sequences. The result is arresting: memories rendered with a different grain and rhythm than the present-day scenes, giving the film a split personality in the best way.

Titmouse animated the flashbacks in 2D, giving these moments their own visual identity and creating a clear bridge back to the series’ pixel-and-sprite origins.
Behind the camera is director Kitao Sakurai. The cast list reads like a deliberate blend of star power and genre-savvy choices — Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, Andrew Koji as Ryu, and Kalina Liang stepping into Chun-Li’s boots. The studio has set a release date: October 16, 2026. Mark it down if you care about blockbuster fight choreography or faithful adaptations.
For now, the poster and trailer together promise a film that wants to honor its arcade DNA while trying something visually distinctive. Will it satisfy purists? Will newcomers care? Either way, it’s shaping up to be one of the year’s more interesting genre experiments.
