Alpine A290 GTS to Compete With Factory-Backed Support at ecoRally Scotland
Alpine is set to electrify the competition at the 2025 ecoRally Scotland, the eighth round of the prestigious Bridgestone FIA EcoRally Cup, taking place on July 26th and 27th. Three factory-supported Alpine A290 GTS models will battle it out against a field of leading electric and hybrid vehicles, demonstrating the brand’s storied motorsports heritage, technical prowess, and commitment to sustainable performance.
Showcasing Competition-Ready Engineering on Scottish Roads
This rally is reserved exclusively for fully-electric and hybrid vehicles, with each team consisting of a skilled driver and navigator. The dynamic road stage kicks off from Dundee, weaving through the breathtaking scenery of Tayside, and challenges crews to master a series of checkpoints, regularity stages, and navigation tasks. Success depends on precision driving, strategic problem-solving, and flawless teamwork—attributes perfectly suited to the Alpine A290 GTS.
Star-Studded Lineup Highlights Rally Pedigree
Among the competitors, two works Alpine A290 GTS cars will fly the UK flag, piloted by Steven Berry—a respected Scottish freelance journalist known for Luxury Lifestyle Magazine—and Ashleigh Morris, a rising star on the Scottish rally scene and an active contender in the 2025 BTRDA rally series. Their navigators, Kaye Berry and Craig Parry, bring invaluable experience to these teams.
A third Alpine A290, fielded by ten-time French rally champion Emmanuel ‘Manu’ Guigou with co-driver Emilien Le Borgne, underscores the Franco-British motorsport connection and Alpine’s ongoing partnership with Renault Group. Having previously enjoyed success racing the Alpine A110, Guigou and Le Borgne are poised to showcase the next-generation EV’s real-world performance.
