Motorola's Moto Pad 70 Debuts with 2.5K Display and Pen

Who says midrange tablets must be bland? Motorola just dropped the Moto Pad 70 in India — a device that quietly collects sensible specs and bundles them into a slim, media-friendly package.

The star is a 12.1-inch 2.5K LCD panel (2560 x 1600) that runs at 90Hz. Not the flashy 120Hz some rivals tout, but the viewing experience feels smooth for scrolling, video and everyday multitasking. The panel hits up to 800 nits and covers DCI-P3 color space, and sound comes through four speakers tuned for Dolby Atmos, so streaming and calls are both detailed and spacious.

It is thin and light. At 6.29 millimeters and roughly 530 grams, the Pad 70 won’t bulk up your bag. Motorola added IP52 splash resistance and ships the slate in a single Pantone Sea Angel blue that leans toward tasteful rather than showy.

Under the hood sits a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Storage choices are 128GB or 256GB on UFS 2.2, and there’s a microSD slot that expands capacity up to 2TB for those who hoard movies and photos. Real-world multitasking should be solid for productivity apps and casual gaming, though this isn’t aimed at heavy desktop-level workflows.

Software arrives as Android 16, and Motorola promises two major OS upgrades (up to Android 18) plus security patches through 2030. Smart Connect is an appealing software bridge for anyone in the Motorola ecosystem, smoothing file sharing and screen mirroring between the tablet, Motorola phones and Windows PCs.

Battery life is a headline feature: a 10,200 mAh cell paired with a bundled 68W charger means long stretches between charges and fast top-ups when needed. Connectivity covers 5G, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.4 for modern networking needs.

The included Moto Pen supports 4096 pressure levels, tilt detection and palm rejection, making handwriting and sketching feel natural on the glass. For typists, a separate magnetic keyboard is available as an accessory.

All told, the Moto Pad 70 aims to be a dependable everyday tablet: competent screen, roomy battery, and a stylus that actually ships in the box. Is it the best choice for power users? Maybe not. But if you want a balanced Android slate that prioritizes media, battery life and reasonable performance, it deserves a closer look.
