A device carrying model number M261DB has passed wireless certification with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, a development that points to a separate launch for the standard Xiaomi 18 later this year. The certification was noted in reporting by Rajesh Regmi on Sep 27, 2026, and the identification of the model as the Xiaomi 18 standard comes from tipster Digital Chat Station.
Xiaomi Group co-founder and president Lu Weibing previously said on Weibo that the standard Xiaomi 18 would arrive separately and later in the year, a confirmation that fits a staggered rollout rather than a single, joint debut for the generation.

A report by XimiTime places the launch in December, roughly three months after the Pro series. Leaks and tipsters suggest the vanilla Xiaomi 18 will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, keep a 200MP main sensor, and—if the numbers are accurate—ship with a 7200mAh battery. Like its predecessor, the standard model reportedly will not include the secondary rear screen found on the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max.
The larger cell would be a standout if confirmed. It would put the standard Xiaomi 18 ahead of the Xiaomi 18 Pro on battery capacity; the Pro ships with a 7000mAh battery, a Leica-certified triple camera system covering multiple focal lengths, a 6.4-inch panel built on Xiaomi’s new M11 screen, 4000 nits of peak brightness, and hardware-level privacy protection integrated into the display.
Leaks indicate the standard model may trade the Pro’s triple-camera array for two sensors while maintaining the same main-camera resolution and chipset as the pricier sibling, gaining battery capacity in the process. None of these specifications have been confirmed by Xiaomi, so treat the details with caution.
