By Siddharth, 09 October 2026, Apple iOS. Apple has asked some suppliers to reduce production of components for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, according to a new report.

According to the report, Apple cut component orders by up to 15 percent for October amid weaker demand and rising memory prices.

The report, citing people familiar with the matter, says the request applied to some suppliers. The reduction is reportedly driven by weaker market demand at the same time that memory prices have risen, increasing component costs and prompting adjustments to orders.

The report also says demand for the new models has been weaker than for last year’s iPhone models. A separate recent report in China, however, painted a different picture, claiming that the iPhone 18 Pro models outperformed their predecessors in that market.

The report suggests that lower shipment volumes may not necessarily hurt Apple’s revenue because the iPhone 18 Pro models are priced about 10 percent higher than their predecessors. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 in the US, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299.
