OnePlus has officially unveiled the OnePlus 16, a China-exclusive flagship that pairs Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 with a 200MP main camera and a substantially larger battery. The company confirmed the device at a launch event on 12 October 2026, and open sales in China begin on October 31.

The phone centers on a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED panel with a 1,272 by 2,772 pixel resolution and a top refresh rate of 185Hz. OnePlus says the display runs at 165Hz during everyday use, while the extra 20Hz is 'unlocked' for supported gaming titles. The panel uses BOE's X4 luminescent material, supports a hardware minimum brightness of 1 nit, and sits behind 1.15mm bezels. The front houses a 50MP selfie camera and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

Performance, memory and software

Inside is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. OnePlus offers configurations up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage; the base trim ships with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The company ships the device with ColorOS 17.

Photography is anchored by a 200MP main sensor listed at 1/1.4-inch. The rear array also includes a 50MP 3x telephoto module and a 50MP ultrawide camera. OnePlus presents these as the primary imaging components without additional third-party claims.

Battery capacity is a major headline: the OnePlus 16 moves to a 9,000 mAh cell with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. That represents a significant jump from recent OnePlus flagships and is likely to shape usage expectations for the model.

The OnePlus 16 will be available in Starlight, Dark Forest, and Martian Masterpiece finishes. In China the base 12GB/256GB model is priced at CNY 5,999 (listed as about $896), while the top 16GB/1TB version is CNY 8,499 (listed as about $1,270). Open sales in China start on October 31.
