The 7 Series Protection is homologated to VR9 as standard and can be upgraded to VPAM 10 to resist higher-calibre threats such as 7.62 x 54 mm R rifle rounds. Active Systems and Run-Flat Capability
Integral Active Steering with rear-wheel steering is standard, reducing turning radius and helping maintain composure during rapid maneuvers. Specially tuned brakes and chassis components work in concert with Michelin PAX run-flat tyres mounted on 20-inch alloys, permitting continued mobility at up to 80 km/h even with zero tyre pressure. These survival features are critical for an armored limousine required to evacuate occupants from a threat zone.
Interior, Equipment and Security Integration
From the outside the Protection models closely resemble a standard 7 Series with the M Sport package, preserving discreetness. Inside, customers can specify the same luxury options as the regular G70 range: Executive Lounge seating with massage functions, privacy blinds, a cool box and premium audio. BMW’s Curved Display is accompanied by a dedicated Protection Command Touch System that centralises security settings—ballistic status, door locks and emergency response features—within the cabin.
