A fresh face has slipped into Marvel’s enormous chessboard. Noah Jupe — the actor who won attention on stage and screen — has quietly been added to the cast of Avengers: Secret Wars, according to Deadline.
It’s an early move. Filming is expected to start late this year, and Anthony and Joe Russo are back behind the camera to shepherd what Marvel is billing as another seismic team-up. Marvel Studios and Disney haven’t confirmed Jupe’s role, so for now the part’s stakes and scope are speculation. Still, the timing matters.
Why does this casting buzz matter beyond the usual celebrity chatter? Because the MCU’s narrative has been threading parallel realities and variant versions of characters since Phase Four. The multiverse isn’t a subplot anymore. It’s the engine. Secret Wars arrives after several interconnected installments that have expanded Marvel’s playground — and the studio appears to be positioning this film as a hinge point.
There’s also an intriguing personal link: Jupe and Sadie Sink recently shared the West End stage in Romeo and Juliet from March to June. Sink’s name has circulated in connection with Secret Wars for months — she’s been reported to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day as Jane Gray — although her presence in Secret Wars hasn’t been officially nailed down. Jupe’s casting opens the door to the possibility they’ll reunite on screen, this time in a much larger arena.

Alongside these new additions, Marvel has already signaled several returns. The main heroes from Fantastic Four: First Steps are expected to show up. Letitia Wright and Simu Liu are slated to return as Shuri (Black Panther) and Shang-Chi. Robert Downey Jr. will reportedly don the mask of Doctor Doom again in 2027. And Chris Evans, who will be seen as Steve Rogers this December, has confirmed he’ll be part of Secret Wars as well.
There’s another layer to consider: Marvel’s wider reshuffle. Kevin Feige said in July 2025 that the company prefers talking about a reset or a single timeline rather than a blunt “reboot.” He flagged the X-Men as the next franchise to receive a refreshed approach — a strand expected to start after Secret Wars. Could Jupe be introduced now as a familiar mutant face later? It’s plausible, and it’s the kind of casting move Marvel has used before to seed future arcs.
For now, much remains unconfirmed. The industry will likely learn more as principal photography gets underway this fall, and even more clarity should follow after Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters in December. One thing is clear: Marvel is stacking pieces on the board and playing a long game.
Before the big team returns in theaters, Disney+ will host VisionQuest on October 14. The series wraps just two weeks before another major comic‑book release lands in cinemas, though how directly VisionQuest connects to the events of Secret Wars is still unknown.
Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled to open on December 17, 2027, and Noah Jupe’s addition is the first small ripple of casting news that could grow into a tidal wave as Marvel’s next chapter unfolds.
