The pups are heading back to the big screen — and this time the stakes feel bigger. PAW Patrol 4 has been officially announced as a collaboration between Spin Master, Paramount Animation, and Nickelodeon Movies, with a targeted theatrical release in 2029.
Why another installment? Look at the numbers. Merchandise tied to the PAW Patrol brand has generated roughly $18 billion in global retail sales, and the three theatrical entries so far have combined for more than $500 million at the worldwide box office. That kind of commercial momentum is hard to ignore, and studios are clearly betting the franchise still has room to grow.
Returning behind the camera is director Cal Brunker, who led PAW Patrol: The Movie, PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie and PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie. Brunker will co-write the screenplay for the fourth film alongside Bob Barlen. Short sentence. Big expectations.
“PAW Patrol is a global phenomenon in entertainment,” said Vishnu Atria, Spin Master Entertainment’s Executive Vice President and Head. He framed the new movie as one piece of a much larger plan: expanding the PAW Patrol universe across films, series, specials, short-form videos and interactive games so future generations of kids can discover the world wherever they are. Stories to tell. Audiences to find.

Jennifer Dodge, President of Paramount Animation, added that the studio is excited to continue the saga of these beloved pups on the cinematic stage. Dodge, who previously worked with Spin Master on its entertainment initiatives, said the partners are eager to deliver another big-screen adventure crafted for family audiences.
Brunker himself leaned into the emotional bond between the films and their viewers. He noted how rewarding it has been to watch families connect with the characters and teased that the creative team has a fresh story they think audiences will love. Anticipation is building, and the team is keen to share what’s next.
Since its debut in 2013, PAW Patrol has consistently ranked as a top preschool program on Nick Jr., airing in more than 190 territories and translated into 33 languages. The franchise’s YouTube channel counts over 10 million subscribers, and more than a thousand companies worldwide are licensed to produce PAW Patrol merchandise. Skydance Productions will handle consumer products licensing while Spin Master continues global toy sales.
This announcement is less a full stop and more a signal flare: a franchise that began as a tiny TV rescue crew has become a multiplatform entertainment machine. Expect more tie-ins, more storytelling pathways, and another cinematic send-off in 2029 to test how far these animated heroes can run.
