Some casting choices arrive like thunder: sudden, impossible to ignore. For Aind Navarati, the roll of Rogue has moved her from breakout indie star to a leading face in Marvel's next big gamble.
Navarati's name started turning heads after Obsession shattered expectations at the box office, hauling in $519.4 million worldwide. She was already familiar to TV audiences for her turn on Superman & Lois, but the horror hit redirected Hollywood's attention—fast and unapologetically.
Now she’s switched gears toward the mutant world. In a conversation with the Los Angeles Times she made one thing clear: this is not a paycheck role. She’s digging in. She’s reading. She’s plotting how to give Rogue the layers longtime fans expect while honoring what director Jake Schreier and producer Kevin Feige envision.

"I'll do my best—because I love this character," she told the Los Angeles Times.
Rogue is more than a power set. In comics she absorbs others' abilities and a piece of their energy through touch—an ability that has driven both epic showdowns and heartbreaking isolation. It’s a part that invites physical action and quiet, internal drama in equal measure. That duality is exactly what makes the role so tempting and so treacherous for any actor who takes it on.
The casting was made official at D23 in August 2026, when Feige and Schreier unveiled a fresh ensemble: Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kate Conner as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Adam Driver stepping into the shoes of Mister Sinister. Navarati joins that tapestry, tasked with carving out Rogue’s place in a new X-Men era.
Off camera, she’s thinking like a filmmaker. Writing and directing interests tug at her, but for now preparation for Rogue takes precedence. She wants to satisfy the die-hard fans and the filmmakers, yes—but she also wants to surprise herself.
The new X-Men takes shape under Jake Schreier and is slated to open May 5, 2028. It’s a long road from audition room to premiere night. But if Navarati’s recent trajectory is any guide, expect a performance that aims to linger.
