Want a week-long battery without carrying a brick? Motorola's latest pair on the Moto G stage aim to deliver exactly that — and a little flair, too.
The Moto G17 and Moto G17 Power share the same bones: a 6.72-inch Full HD+ LCD that tops out around 1,050 nits, Gorilla Glass 3 for protection, a 32MP selfie shooter, and a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 main camera backed by a 5MP ultrawide. Both sport vegan leather backs, stereo speakers tuned for Dolby Atmos, NFC, a 3.5mm jack, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and an IP64 splash-resistant rating. Small touches. Big practicality.
But the differences are where decisions get easy. The G17 Power is the endurance model: 6,000 mAh battery, 30W fast charge, 8.8mm thick, and sold with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage that you can expand by up to 1TB with a microSD card. The regular G17 trims that down to a 5,200 mAh battery, 18W charging, a slightly slimmer 8.17mm profile, and comes in 4GB or 8GB RAM variants with 128GB of base storage — also microSD-expandable.
Both phones run MediaTek's Helio G81 Extreme, a mid-range chipset tuned for everyday apps and light gaming. Basic. Predictable. Reliable. They ship with Android 15 out of the box, but software longevity is murky: Motorola has confirmed security updates for the Moto G17 through February 2028; the company hasn't committed the same timeline for the G17 Power yet.

Design-wise, Motorola keeps the look familiar but adds Pantone-approved color options: the G17 Power arrives in Alaskan Blue and Evening Blue, while the G17 tacks on a third Bordeaux finish for those after a warmer tone. Vegan leather on the back gives these phones an upscale feel, without the upscale price.
Where they land in pocketbook terms matters. The Moto G17 is priced at £149.99 in the U.K. for the 4GB/128GB model via Motorola's store; across Europe you'll find the 8GB/128GB SKU for €199. The Moto G17 Power with 8GB/256GB goes for €229 in Europe. Motorola says local EMEA availability and further market details will come from regional teams.
If long runtime and expandable storage top your checklist, the Moto G17 Power is the obvious pick; if you want a leaner price and still-solid cameras, the standard G17 holds its ground.
