Think OnePlus is done with compact flagships? Think again. Small phones still have a devoted audience.
Earlier this month a tip suggested OnePlus would skip launching the 15T in India under the same name, echoing last year’s move when the 13T appeared as the 13s. Now a fresh leak from Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station says the company is already working on a 16T targeted for next year.
According to the whisper network, the 16T will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. The leak doesn’t make it clear whether OnePlus will use the base Elite variant or the higher-binned option. The screen is said to be a 6.3-inch flat panel with an 'ultra-high' refresh rate, while other details remain undecided.

What’s interesting is the regional split. In India the smaller flagship line looks quiet for now, but in China these compact models appear to be profitable enough for OnePlus to keep iterating. Strategy, it seems, can vary by market.
Will the 16T turn up in India as a 16s? That’s the question many buyers will ask. It’ll come down to naming choices and whether OnePlus wants a unified global lineup or region-specific models.
Either way, the rumor is a reminder that pocketable power still matters. Whether the 16T becomes a global release or remains China-first, it proves there’s still appetite for high-end phones that don’t require two hands.
