Honor X7e Plus 5G: 8,100mAh Battery Meets 120Hz Screen

Imagine a phone built more like a power bank with a camera attached. That's the first impression the Honor X7e Plus 5G makes: a gargantuan battery, a surprisingly smooth display, and a few modern conveniences crammed into a value-focused package.

The centerpiece here is the battery. Honor quotes an 8,100mAh typical capacity (7,900mAh rated) and pairs it with 45W SuperCharge. In plain terms: you should be able to skip chargers for days under normal use, though topping up that massive cell won’t be as quick as charging a compact flagship. The company also highlights durability — battery health claims that it will retain over 80 percent capacity after years of regular use under its internal testing — and a wide operating temperature range from -30°C to 50°C.

Screen specs read like a checklist for sensible everyday use. The X7e Plus 5G sports a 6.87-inch TFT LCD with an HD+ resolution of 1592 x 720 and a 120Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness hits up to 1,020 nits, and software modes such as Dynamic Dimming and Eye Comfort are onboard. It’s not AMOLED territory, but the high refresh rate keeps animations and scrolling pleasingly fluid.

Under the hood you’ll find Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, a chip aimed at efficient 5G performance rather than headline-grabbing speed. Honor offers up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage, with RAM Turbo able to borrow storage as virtual memory when you push multitasking. The phone runs Android 16 with MagicOS 10 layered on top.

A tactile AI button sits on the frame — a shortcut for Honor’s suite of smart tools. Long-pressing it brings up AI Memory, Circle to Search, AI Eraser, AI Summary and Smart Recommendations. It’s a feature that leans into convenience more than novelty, smoothing everyday tasks like photo cleanup and quick searches.

Photography is straightforward. A 50-megapixel primary sensor handles most shots, backed by an auxiliary sensor for depth or macro duties, while selfies come from a 5-megapixel front camera. Audio gets a boost with stereo speakers and a so-called 400 percent volume mode. Connectivity extras include NFC, Bluetooth 5.1 with LDAC and aptX HD codecs, USB-C, dual SIM support and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Ruggedness is another selling point: the handset carries IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings and has SGS Premium Drop and Crush Resistance certification. The body measures 168.3 x 78.54 x 8.3mm and tips the scales at 216.5 grams — not light, but that weight buys endurance.

As for pricing and availability, Honor launched the X7e Plus 5G in Qatar and Oman first. In Qatar the phone starts at QAR 999 for the 6GB + 128GB model (around $275), while the 8GB + 256GB variant is QAR 1,099 (about $300). Color options include Desert Gold, Velvet Black and Meteor Silver. Honor hasn’t confirmed a wider rollout yet, so buyers outside those markets will need to wait for official word.

There’s a clear trade-off on show. You get stamina, basic 5G, and a thoughtful set of software tools — but you don’t get flagship display resolution or a top-tier processor. If battery life and solid everyday features matter more than peak performance or an OLED panel, the X7e Plus 5G is worth a hard look as a pragmatic, value-driven choice.
