Google’s camera team just nudged the leaderboard. DXOMark’s full camera review places the Pixel 11 Pro XL at a score of 168 after comprehensive photo and video testing—enough to land the phone in fifth place globally and fifth among super-premium devices priced above $800.
That 168 ties the Pixel 11 Pro XL with last year’s iPhone 17 Pro and the Oppo Find X8 Ultra. It also sits just two points shy of this year’s front-runners like the Vivo X300 Ultra and the Oppo Find X9 Ultra. Meanwhile, Huawei’s Pura 80 Ultra remains the benchmark, holding the top spot with a 175 score despite being more than a year old.

So what did DXOMark like? The Pixel earned praise for consistent exposure across most lighting conditions, a broad dynamic range and surprisingly resilient highlight detail. Colors skew natural rather than punchy, and skin tones remain accurate in a wide variety of scenes. Video chops were solid as well—DXOMark’s testing flagged reliable performance when motion and complex lighting come into play.
There’s also a clear lift compared with Google’s prior flagship: the new model outscored the Pixel 10 Pro XL by five points (163). That jump underscores how the Pixel 11 family’s camera upgrades have pushed it ahead of competitors such as Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra, which scored 157 and sits lower in the global rankings.

The Pixel 11 Pro XL’s DXOMark showing proves Google still leads in computational photography evolution, even as rivals steadily close the gap.
Numbers tell one story. Real-world shoots tell another. If you care about natural color science, highlight preservation, and a camera that makes dependable choices when conditions get messy, the Pixel 11 Pro XL is a serious contender. But with margins this thin, firmware updates and real-world camera shootouts could reshuffle the deck at any moment. Which flagship would you want in your pocket when the light goes sideways?
