Circle launches Arc, Layer-1 network focused on payments
Circle, issuer of the USDC stablecoin, has launched its dedicated Layer 1 blockchain called Arc to expand payment rails and blockchain-based financial services. The network's public debut drew intense trading activity, but meme tokens dominated on day one.
Meme launchpads capture the bulk of volume
Data shows Arc's decentralized exchanges processed $410.8 million in trading volume on launch day, with meme-coin launchpads accounting for roughly 82% of that total. Combined DEX volume for tokens from meme launchpads reached about $336.26 million, and Arguspad alone was responsible for $202.35 million of trades.

Network activity and token creation
On the first public day, nearly 97,000 tokens were minted on Arc and the network processed approximately 7.76 million transactions. Those metrics highlight a surge of retail and speculative demand around token launches and new liquidity opportunities on this Layer 1 blockchain.
Market implications and investor caution
High early-volume driven by meme coins and launchpads signals strong initial interest, but heavy trading does not guarantee sustained price appreciation. Retail investors should be cautious: if the initial wave of activity fades, liquidity for newly issued tokens may dry up, making it harder to buy or sell at favorable prices.
As Arc aims to integrate USDC and payments infrastructure, traders and developers will be watching for how liquidity, decentralized exchange depth, and real-world use cases evolve on this new blockchain ecosystem.
