Samsung nets 47 honors at IDEA 2025
Samsung has once again dominated the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA), the prestigious program run by the Industrial Designers Society of America. At IDEA 2025 the company secured a total of 47 recognitions, a slight increase over last year, underscoring sustained industry recognition for its industrial design and product strategy.
Highlights of the awards haul
Among the top recognitions were two Gold awards, three Silver, and three Bronze placements, alongside 39 Finalist distinctions. Notable Gold-level wins included Samsungs Mobile Design Visual Identity System, which unifies the diverse form factors of the Galaxy line under a consistent visual language, and Inclusive Essentials, a design approach focused on accessibility for aging users and the visually impaired by standardizing shapes and colors and enhancing interaction with sound and lighting.
Silver awards recognized a mix of consumer and concept projects, including design work on the Galaxy S10 series, a smart modular house concept that combines Samsung hardware with AI, and an AI-driven IoT solution for smarter building management. Bronze honors were awarded to products such as the Galaxy S24 FE, Vision AI initiatives, and a SmartThings-enabled home heat pump.

Products and concepts honored
Finalist placements spanned flagship smartphones, smart home appliances, and display hardware, reflecting Samsungs broad product portfolio. Among the finalists were:
- Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6
- Smart Monitor M9
- Bespoke AI Laundry Hub
These recognitions highlight design strengths across mobile, display, and connected-home categories.
What this means for Samsung and the market
Design awards like IDEA contribute to brand value and help signal where companies are investing in user experience, accessibility, and industrial design. Samsungs emphasis on cohesive visual identity and AI-enabled IoT suggests a strategic focus on integration across devices and services, not just isolated product improvements. For consumers and industry watchers, the awards reinforce Samsung as a major design force across hardware, software, and smart-home ecosystems.
Overall, the IDEA 2025 results offer a snapshot of current trends in product design: unified visual systems, accessibility-first thinking, and embedding AI into everyday devices to improve usability and energy management.
