Huawei unveils a Blue Edition of its medical-focused smartwatch
Huawei has expanded the WATCH D2 lineup with a Blue Edition, launched at the company’s Global Innovative Product Launch in Paris. Priced at £349.99 in the UK, the new finish costs £30 more than the earlier black and gold variants introduced last year. Beyond its fresh colourway, the Blue Edition keeps the device’s core selling point: medical-grade health monitoring aimed at users who want clinical-level insights on the wrist.
Clinical features built for day‑to‑day monitoring
The WATCH D2 Blue Edition supports 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM), enabling scheduled readings, single checks and recurring reminders. Users can review detailed reports that include average systolic and diastolic values, daytime and nighttime breakdowns, and pulse rates. Huawei says the device meets the European Society of Hypertension guidelines for ABPM and carries CE-MDR certification as a medical device.
How it measures blood pressure
The watch uses Huawei’s TruSense system: a high-precision pressure sensor, a miniature pump and a 26.5 mm inflatable airbag integrated into the strap. This hybrid approach lets the wearable perform cuff-like measurements without a separate accessory.
Display, design and comfort
The WATCH D2 sports a 1.82-inch AMOLED panel (480 × 408 pixels, 347 PPI) with up to 1500 nits peak brightness, housed in an aluminum-alloy case sized at 48 × 38 × 13.3 mm. The body weight is roughly 40 g without the strap. Buyers can choose between Blue, Black and Gold finishes, and fluoroelastomer or leather strap options.

Health, fitness and smart features
Health Glance surfaces up to 10 indicators across cardiovascular, respiratory and emotional health. The WATCH D2 also provides Pulse Wave Arrhythmia Analysis and an on-wrist ECG that generates a report after a 30-second reading. Other sensors track continuous heart rate, SpO2, skin temperature, stress and sleep (including abnormal breathing detection).
Fitness support covers over 80 exercise modes, automatic recognition for six common activities and GNSS positioning for outdoor sports. Connectivity features include Bluetooth calling, NFC, screenshot capture and customizable cards. The watch pairs with Android 8.0+ and iOS 13.0+ devices.

Battery, durability and extras
Typical battery life is up to six days; enabling ABPM reduces runtime to about one day. Wireless charging is supported. The WATCH D2 is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance but is not designed for swimming or prolonged immersion under high water pressure.
Buyers receive a complimentary three-month subscription to Huawei Health+, which offers guided workouts, meditation content and personalised wellness plans.
In a market where wearables increasingly blend consumer convenience with clinical functionality, the WATCH D2 Blue Edition aims to occupy the niche for users who want medically validated monitoring without carrying a separate device.
