Samsung Releases One UI 8 (Android 16) Update for Galaxy A36

Three weeks ago, Samsung kicked off the One UI 8.0 beta program for both the Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56. That beta period has now ended, and Samsung has begun pushing the stable One UI 8.0 build (Android 16) to the Galaxy A36. A wider international rollout is expected to follow over the coming weeks.

Stable Android 16 and One UI 8.0 arrive on the Galaxy A36

The stable One UI 8.0 update, based on Android 16, is currently rolling out in South Korea for the Galaxy A36. The firmware carries the build number A366NKSU2BYI9 and includes the September 2025 security patch. Samsung is likely to release this package to additional markets soon.

This release brings a mix of visual refinements and functional improvements. Quick Share now features a cleaner, more intuitive interface. Samsung Internet and My Files have both received updated UI treatments, while Alarm, Calendar, and Reminder apps gain enhanced item-management options. One UI 8.0 also adds more personalization and UI customization tools to help users tailor their devices.

If you own a Galaxy A36 in South Korea, check for the update by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install. After the download completes, tap Install now to apply the update. Your phone will restart once during installation, after which you can start using the new One UI 8.0 features.

Samsung originally targeted an October 2025 release for the stable One UI 8.0 update on both the Galaxy A36 and A56, but the company has adjusted its schedule after completing rollouts in South Korea first.

Both the Galaxy A36 and the Galaxy A56 are slated to receive five additional major Android OS updates going forward, ensuring continued feature updates and security support.
