Honor has confirmed its Magic8 series will arrive next month powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The company will also introduce the Magic Pad 3 Pro 13.3, billed as the first Android tablet to adopt the new flagship chipset.

What Honor revealed and key features

Official teasers show the Magic8 Pro in a green finish, featuring a flat back and frame with a large circular camera island. A dedicated AI button sits on the right edge next to the power and volume controls, signaling tighter hardware integration for on-device assistants and shortcuts. Alongside the phone lineup, Honor confirmed the Magic Pad 3 Pro 13.3 as the first tablet to pair with Qualcomm's latest chip.

MagicOS 10 brings extensive on-device AI integration, including models designed for advanced semantic understanding. Honor says it will roll out agentic AI across roughly 3,000 scenarios and provide deep support for over 100 widely used apps. Creative users will get Magic Color image restyling, which can transform photos and videos through simple voice commands, while Hybrid Retrieval Technology promises near-instant multimodal search across text, images, and video.

Gamers are not overlooked: Honor's new AI Super Sampling aims to boost resolution and frame rates for demanding open-world titles, with targets up to 1080p at 120fps on capable hardware. These enhancements suggest Honor is pushing both performance and intelligent software features in tandem.

Adding to the hardware story, Honor's CMO Guo Rui shared a sample from the phone's 200MP periscope lens. The image metadata points to an 85mm equivalent focal length with an f/2.6 aperture, underscoring a focus on high-resolution telephoto capture.

With official confirmation of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 across phones and a matching tablet, Honor's next launch looks set to blend advanced AI features with strong imaging and gaming credentials. Expect full specifications and pricing at the official reveal next month.
