New visual punch and tougher off-road hardware for the LX
The Lexus LX returns for 2026 with subtle but meaningful updates that sharpen its luxury appeal and expand its off-road bona fides. The headline change is the availability of an F Sport Appearance Package on the hybrid flagship, while the Overtrail grade gets new exterior color and continued capability upgrades. Rather than reinventing the formula, Lexus has refined what already made the LX a compelling full-size luxury SUV: a refined interior, serious capability, and hybrid power that balances efficiency with muscle.
F Sport Appearance: curbside swagger for the LX 700h
Offered exclusively on the LX 700h F SPORT Handling grade, the F Sport Appearance Package adds more aggressive styling without altering the Handling model's performance tuning. Visual upgrades include color-keyed bumper accents, black mirror caps, a black rear spoiler and unique running-board treatments that give the LX a sportier street presence.
Overtrail keeps the expedition spirit
The Overtrail grade continues to target buyers who want a flagship luxury SUV that's at home away from pavement. Available only on the LX 700h hybrid (two- or three-row seating), Overtrail outfits the LX with:
- 33-inch all-terrain tires
- Locking front and rear differentials
- Front skid plate for underbody protection

Inside, Overtrail mixes rugged utility with premium materials: semi-aniline leather, Stone Brown stitching, and Black Open Pore wood trim. Practical touches like heavy-duty floor liners and a 2,400W onboard inverter turn the LX into a refined mobile base camp.
Platform, powertrains and performance
Both LX 600 and LX 700h run on Toyota's GA-F platform, introduced in 2022. Its rigid ladder-frame chassis combined with double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension aims to deliver the balance Lexus markets as the 'Lexus Driving Signature' — quiet refinement on the highway with confident response when pushed.
Under the hood the LX offers two clearly different personalities:
- LX 600: 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6, 409 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque
- LX 700h: hybrid system tuned to 457 hp and an impressive 583 lb-ft of torque, with an EPA-estimated 20 mpg combined
Both powertrains are rated to tow up to 8,000 pounds. The hybrid also adds motor-assisted low-range control for delicate throttle modulation on technical trails, plus a waterproofed battery housing that supports water fording up to 27.5 inches.

Tech, comfort and safety
Infotainment centers on a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Lexus Interface, supported by a 7-inch secondary display for climate and off-road readouts. Standard wireless smartphone mirroring, voice control and cloud navigation keep the LX competitive. Audiophiles can opt for a 25-speaker Mark Levinson sound system tuned specifically for the LX cabin.
Safety comes standard with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, which bundles upgraded Pre-Collision tech, adaptive cruise with curve management, lane-keeping assistance and more.
Positioning and pricing
Built at Toyota Auto Body's Yoshiwara plant, the 2026 LX starts at $107,950 (including destination). That price underscores Lexus' aim: deliver a flagship SUV capable of attending a formal event as easily as tackling muddy trails.

Key highlights:
- F Sport Appearance adds street-focused styling to the LX 700h
- Overtrail retains serious off-road hardware and rugged interior touches
- Hybrid LX 700h offers high torque, decent fuel figures and deep water fording
With these updates the 2026 Lexus LX stays true to its role as a luxe, full-size SUV that can double as an overland-ready vehicle when duty calls.
