Hyundai unveils the Ioniq 6 N for global launch in early 2026
Hyundai is rolling out a new high-performance electric sedan: the Ioniq 6 N. Positioned as the lower and sleeker counterpart to the Ioniq 5 N crossover, this 800-volt performance EV arrives in early 2026 for markets including Europe, the UK, the United States and Australia. It blends track-focused hardware with everyday usability—a formula aimed squarely at drivers who want combustion-car thrills from an electric platform.
Power, boost and charging
The Ioniq 6 N delivers strong performance numbers straight from the factory: 601 horsepower in its standard setup, with a short-term Boost mode that raises output to 641 hp (equivalent to about 650 metric horsepower when using the combined kilowatt figure). Hyundai achieves this using separate front and rear drive units—303 kW at the rear and 175 kW up front—while Boost can be engaged for 10 seconds and recharges in roughly 10 seconds.

Charging is equally competitive: the 84 kWh high-voltage battery supports up to 350 kW DC charging, taking the battery from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 18 minutes. That makes the Ioniq 6 N practical for long-distance use as well as weekend track sessions.
Acceleration, top speed and range
- 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph): 3.2 seconds
- Top speed: 257 km/h (160 mph)
- WLTP range (Europe): 487 km (303 miles)
- Energy consumption: 18.7 kWh/100 km
With a 2,965 mm wheelbase and an overall length of 4,935 mm, the sedan’s aerodynamically efficient body helps deliver that WLTP figure while still allowing for sharp handling and stability at speed.

Chassis, tires and braking
Hyundai fitted the Ioniq 6 N with exclusive 20-inch forged wheels wrapped in HN-marked Pirelli P-Zero 5 tires sized 275/35. Braking is handled by a mix of four- and single-piston calipers on 400 mm and 360 mm discs. Regen tuning is aggressive: N Brake Regeneration can pull up to 0.6 g and regenerative braking under ABS is rated at about 0.35 g.
N driving tech and interior
Hyundai has loaded the Ioniq 6 N with N-specific software and hardware:
- N Drift Optimizer with customizable drift settings
- N Torque Distribution with 11 levels to vary front/rear torque split
- Three N Pedal settings for single-pedal feel tuning
- N Battery preconditioning and N Active Sound+ (Ignition, Evolution, Lightspeed)
- Faux gearshifts and dedicated N buttons for instant mode selection
The cabin features Alcantara and genuine leather as standard, metal N pedals and a driver knee support pad. Interior trim is primarily black with Performance Blue accents; exterior paint choices include Performance Blue Pearl, Abyss Black Pearl, Serenity White Pearl, Gravity Gold Matte, Nocturne Gray Matte and Nocturne Gray Metallic.

Practical features and market positioning
Standard tech includes Highway Driving Assist 2 for semi-autonomous driving and Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 for automated parking maneuvers—functions that make the car useful in daily driving as well as on the racetrack. Demonstrated at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2025, the Ioniq 6 N showcases Hyundai’s N performance ethos translated to a low-slung EV sedan.
Quote: "The Ioniq 6 N is Hyundai's attempt to put circuit-capable performance in a shape that still works for everyday life," a company release said.

Competitors will likely include high-performance electric saloons such as the BMW i4 M50 and even some variants of the Tesla Model 3/Model S family. Pricing has not yet been announced.
Key highlights:
- 601 hp standard, 641 hp with Boost
- 84 kWh battery, 350 kW DC charging
- 0–100 km/h in 3.2 s, WLTP range 487 km
Hyundai’s Ioniq 6 N aims to bridge the gap between everyday EVs and analog driving excitement—an important move as manufacturers race to make electric cars that still thrill the enthusiast driver.

Nice numbers, but 0.6g regen under ABS? Sounds optimistic. Gold matte paint though... bit try-hard. Still wanna know price, range in winter.

Whoa 641 hp boost?? Insane. Low, sleek and mean. But will battery temps hold up on a hot track? regen seems hardcore, curious...
