Samsung returns to the portable projector scene with the Freestyle+, a smarter, brighter successor that promises sharp images, surface-aware color tweaks and new AI features — all in a travel-friendly package.
Smarter projection that adapts to any surface
The headline improvement is clear: Samsung is quoting 430 ISO lumens for the Freestyle+, roughly double the brightness of the previous model. That boost matters when you want a punchy picture outside or in rooms with ambient light. But the Freestyle+ isn’t just about raw output — it’s about adapting the image to where you point it.
AI OptiScreen, 3D Auto Keystone and Real-time Focus work together so the projector can automatically align, size and sharpen the image even on uneven or angled surfaces. Wall Calibration reads the color and texture of whatever you’re projecting onto and adjusts color mapping so whites, skin tones and highlights look more natural. When paired with Samsung’s compatible screen accessory, Screen Fit will automatically resize the picture to the available display area.

Vision AI Companion: Bixby gets smarter
Samsung calls its conversational layer the Vision AI Companion — an upgraded Bixby powered by large language models. This version can answer questions about shows and actors, suggest related content based on what you like, and keep context across a conversation. Combine that with broad streaming integrations and you’ve got a projector that’s as much an interactive entertainment hub as it is a display.
What the interface brings
- Tizen OS with the latest One UI, plus Daily+ and Daily Board features.
- Samsung TV Plus for free, on-the-go streaming channels.
- Support for AirPlay 2, Smart View, SmartThings and Tap View for quick casting from phones and tablets.
Gaming, audio and connectivity — portable but powerful
One frequent ask from reviewers was cloud gaming, and Samsung listened. The Freestyle+ includes Samsung Gaming Hub, enabling play via cloud services such as Amazon Luna, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Nvidia GeForce Now and Utomik. That means high-end titles are available without a heavy console — ideal for cramped hotel rooms or impromptu multiplayer nights.
Audio is handled by a built-in 360-degree speaker to fill a room, and the Freestyle+ can pair wirelessly with Samsung soundbars and other devices using Q-Symphony. Other niceties include Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, SolarCell Remote, and compatibility with Samsung Health for ambient wellness features.

Who should consider the Freestyle+?
If you want a genuinely portable projector for travel, backyard movie nights or flexible living-room setups, the Freestyle+ is a strong contender: brighter than its predecessor, more forgiving of imperfect surfaces, and richer on software and gaming. It feels like a compact TV alternative — but one that adapts to where and how you use it.
Samsung will demo the Freestyle+ at CES 2026 in Las Vegas (January 6–9). A phased global rollout is planned starting in the first half of the year.
