Chinese sources are now pointing to a 5,500 mAh battery inside the iPhone Fold. Earlier chatter suggested a range, anywhere between 5,400 mAh and 5,800 mAh. The new figure narrows that window and, if true, would represent the largest cell Apple has ever dropped into an iPhone.
If the 5,500 mAh figure holds, this will be Apple's largest smartphone battery by a clear margin.
Why does this matter beyond headline numbers?
