That’s not idle gossip anymore. Multiple SGS certification entries for several Flip8 variants list the maximum input as 9V at 2.77A — which mathematically equals 25W. The filings also reinforce an earlier tip that the Flip8 will pack a 4,300 mAh battery, identical on paper to the Flip7’s cell. Numbers don’t lie, but they don’t tell the full story either.

If faster wired charging was the dealbreaker for you, the Flip8 won’t deliver.

Camera upgrades? Not on the table, according to the same batch of reports. What seems likely instead is an incremental refinement: a slightly thinner, lighter folding shell and the familiar strategy of splitting chipsets by market.
