If you were hoping the next Galaxy A-series phone would be gentle on your wallet, the latest leak has other plans. Euro pricing for the Samsung Galaxy A27 reportedly lands at €349 for the 6GB/128GB SKU and €439 for the 8GB/256GB version — a clear step up from last year.
For context, the Galaxy A26 launched at €299 and €369 in the same markets. That means the base A27 is about €50 more expensive, and the top-tier model roughly €70 pricier. That’s a steep bump: €50 on the base, €70 on the high-end.
The phone itself looks like a sensible mid-range refresh on paper. Expect a 6.7-inch FHD+ display and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 under the hood — an upgrade that could justify part of the added cost. Camera-wise Samsung appears to keep a 50MP main sensor with OIS, backed by a 5MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro lens, plus a 12MP selfie camera. Battery capacity stays healthy at 5,000 mAh with 25W wired charging.
So why the price tag jump? A few forces probably converged: newer silicon, optical image stabilization on the main camera, slightly larger panel, and the general squeeze on component and logistics costs. Companies also recalibrate pricing as product lines mature, moving devices into new value brackets to protect margins or reposition themselves against rivals.
Don’t forget one routine caveat: launch pricing is rarely the last word. Retail promotions, carrier deals, and holiday discounts tend to soften list prices within weeks or months. Still, initial tags shape first impressions — and buyers deciding between mid-range alternatives will notice.
