The numbers are oddly specific: 1,921 mAh and 2,962 mAh. Add them up and you get a rated capacity of 4,883 mAh. In industry terms that usually translates to an advertised, or "typical", capacity of roughly 5,000 mAh. If these parts are bound for Apple's rumored foldable, the iPhone Ultra would likely claim a 5,000 mAh battery on spec sheets.
Why does the split matter? Because foldables rarely use a single, slab-like battery. The form factor forces designers to distribute cells across both halves. Certifications that pair two cells together are a clear signal — not proof, but a very strong clue — that a foldable iPhone could be in the works.

It also lines up interestingly with Samsung's roadmap. The rumored Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is said to pack similar battery capacity, while the Galaxy Z Fold8 — the more direct rival to Apple's expected lineup — reportedly uses about 4,800 mAh. So on paper, Apple's rumored total would put it in the same ballpark as Samsung's foldable flagship contenders.
Timing matters. The iPhone Ultra is still expected to debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max this September, despite earlier chatter about delays. If Apple keeps to that schedule, we won't have long to wait before seeing whether these certifications reflect final hardware or just supplier-level prototypes.
Leaks like this don't confirm names, designs, or software choices.
