Xiaomi launched the Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro in China with 3.2K 144Hz LCDs and Snapdragon processors; neither tablet uses the XRING O3 chipset used in the Pad 9 Pro Max.
Both models use a 3.2K LCD panel at 3200 x 2136 pixels, a 3:2 aspect ratio, 144Hz refresh rate, 12-bit color depth and DCI-P3 coverage. Both support HDR10, HDR Vivid and Dolby Vision.
Xiaomi has retained its eye-comfort certifications on both devices: Circadian Friendly, Flicker-Free and hardware-level low blue light. Both panels include wet-touch support.

Software is identical across the line: WPS for Pad for office work, CapCut Pro for video editing, and support for Xiaomi’s magnetic pen and a PC-style floating keyboard.
The models differ in size and power. The Pad 9 Pro has a 12.5-inch screen and a 1,000 nits peak brightness. The Pad 9 has an 11.2-inch screen with an 800 nits peak brightness. Both are 12-bit LCDs at 144Hz with a 3:2 ratio.
The Pad 9 Pro runs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, an octa-core 3nm platform clocked up to 3.8GHz with an Adreno GPU. The Pad 9 uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, the same chip Xiaomi used on the Pad 8.

Battery and charging differ: the Pad 9 Pro has an 11,000mAh battery with 67W wired charging and 22.5W reverse charging. The Pad 9 has a 9,720mAh battery with 45W charging support.
The Pad 9 Pro weighs 580g and measures 5.8mm thick. The Pad 9 weighs 485g and is 5.75mm thick. Both gain a few grams when fitted with the soft-light display option.
Camera setups diverge. The Pad 9 Pro includes a 50MP main camera capable of 4K video and a 32MP front camera for video calls. The Pad 9 has a 13MP main camera and an 8MP front camera, both limited to 1080p video and missing some of the Pro’s extras such as the teleprompter’s higher-resolution feed.

Memory and storage: both start at an 8GB/128GB configuration. The Pad 9 tops out at 12GB of RAM with 256GB UFS 4.1 storage. The Pad 9 Pro reaches 16GB of RAM with 256GB UFS 4.1.
Pricing in China for the Pad 9 begins at 2,999 yuan (around $450) for 8GB/128GB. The 8GB/256GB model is 3,299 yuan (around $495); the 8GB/256GB soft-light version is 3,499 yuan (around $525); the 12GB/256GB model is 3,799 yuan (around $570). Available colors: Silver, Spruce Green, Black and Ice Peach Pink.

The Pad 9 Pro starts at 3,799 yuan (around $570) for 8GB/128GB. The 8GB/256GB model is 4,099 yuan (around $615); 12GB/256GB is 4,599 yuan (around $690); 12GB/256GB soft-light is 4,799 yuan (around $720); and 16GB/256GB is 4,999 yuan (around $750).
