WhatsApp has begun preparing a media hub for iPhone, according to code uncovered in the latest beta (version 26.42.10.74). The addition follows last year’s launch of the media hub on Mac and the web and appeared in the iOS build while researchers dug through the app’s files.
The hub will live in the app’s settings and collect photos, videos, links and documents from conversations — but only the items you received. Media you sent and disappearing content will not appear.

How it will work
The interface is split into two tabs: New for recently received items and All media for everything. Users will be able to filter by photos, videos or links, toggle between list and grid views, and tap a heart icon to surface only the items they reacted to. Each item offers familiar actions: forward it to another chat, add a reaction, star it or jump to the chat where it arrived.
Search will apply to photo and video captions as well as to links, so you can find a shared item even if you do not remember when it was sent to you.
The hub is limited to received media and excludes sent or disappearing content.
At present the feature remains under development and is not available even to beta testers. WhatsApp should start rolling it out to some of them in a future update, though it is unclear when the feature will be ready for everyone.
