John Ternus, Apple’s new chief executive, has made product design a top priority since taking the role last month, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman says. Ternus now visits Apple’s design studio several times a week and sometimes multiple times in a single day.
That level of presence marks a clear change from the previous era under Tim Cook, who Gurman says typically visited the studio at most once a month for about an hour.

Gurman writes that "Ternus had been in some contact with the design studio previously as head of hardware engineering, given the close coordination required between those groups. However, since becoming CEO, he has fully immersed himself in the industrial design and user interface teams."
Ternus brings an engineering background to the role, while Cook built a reputation as a supply chain specialist. To free up more time for design and engineering, Ternus has reassigned financial responsibilities to Kevin Park and operations and supply chain duties to Sabih Khan.
