Chevrolet has removed the continuously variable transmission from the 2027 Equinox, and all trims now switch from the CVT to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The move accompanies modest equipment upgrades and a uniform $300 price increase across the lineup.
The automaker says the 2027 Equinox gains interior and infotainment refinements: the native Google-based infotainment system replaces the previous unit, the Gemini voice assistant is now standard, and a cabin-monitoring camera becomes available when customers opt for the safety and technology package. Exterior updates are limited to a new olive metallic paint that replaces the previous cactus green option.

All front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive 2027 Equinox trims are now fitted with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The powertrain otherwise remains unchanged. The carryover 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder continues to produce 175 hp and 275 Nm of torque.
Pricing
Chevrolet has applied a $300 increase to every 2027 Equinox trim. The new base prices, listed alongside a $1,995 freight charge, are:
LT front-wheel drive: $31,295
LT all-wheel drive: $33,295
Active front-wheel drive: $36,195
Active all-wheel drive: $38,195
RS front-wheel drive: $36,195
RS all-wheel drive: $38,195

The Equinox remains one of General Motors best sellers in the United States, second only to the Chevrolet Silverado pickup. According to GM sales figures, the model accounts for roughly 10 to 13 percent of the automaker's U.S. volume, with annual sales exceeding 200,000 units.
After peaking in 2025, Equinox sales have declined about 15 percent, and the Equinox EV has suffered a 92.4 percent drop in demand that has weighed on the model's overall performance.
Chevrolet lists the $1,995 transport charge as a separate fee to be added to the prices above.
