RedMagic says the 12 Pro+ uses an under-display "true full-screen" AMOLED panel running at 185Hz, which the company describes as an industry first, and the handset was unveiled in China on 16 October 2026.
The 6.85-inch 1216 by 2688 display reaches 1,900 nits in high brightness mode and 5,000 nits at peak, and is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. RedMagic says the panel conceals a ninth-generation 16MP under-display selfie camera developed with BOE, and the front also houses an ultrasonic fingerprint reader; the company lists a 0.96mm bezel and a 96.3 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Cooling and thermals
Alongside the display claim, RedMagic highlighted an RGB liquid-cooling system centered on a circular module on the back that can react to events in games. The phone uses a dual-loop liquid cooling layout around the CPU and the battery, and RedMagic says the module’s micro-pump is 85 percent more powerful than the one in the RedMagic 11 Pro+ while drawing as little as 20 milliwatts. The thermal system also includes a fan rated to spin up to 25,500 RPM and IPX8 protection, graphene thermal materials, a vapor chamber, and liquid metal in what the company calls a five-layer setup.

Hardware, features and pricing
RedMagic equips the 12 Pro+ with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset paired with an in-house RedCore R5 gaming chip. Memory and storage top out at 16GB of LPDDR5T RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 Pro storage. The RedCore R5 is listed as handling ray tracing, 2K upscaling, and frame interpolation up to 185Hz in supported games. RedMagic also updated its PC Emulator to allow Steam sign-in and play from a PC library on the handset, while noting that compatibility varies by game.
Battery capacity is 8,400 mAh with support for 120W wired and 80W wireless charging, plus bypass charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging. Rear optics comprise a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization and 8K video recording, plus a 50MP ultrawide. The device measures 8.55mm thick, weighs 223g, and has Gorilla Glass 7i on the back as well as IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance. It runs RedMagic OS 12 based on Android 17.

Other features listed by RedMagic include dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, a 3.5mm headphone jack, an X-axis linear motor, 700Hz capacitive shoulder triggers, NFC, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, an IR blaster, and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with DisplayPort output.
Color options announced are Nightfreeze, Subzero, and Skyfrost, with Skyfrost arriving later this year. Pricing in China is CNY 6,999 for the 12GB/256GB model, CNY 7,999 for 16GB/512GB, and CNY 8,999 for 16GB/1TB; RedMagic also announced a forged carbon Golden Saga edition with 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, with further details to be shared later.
RedMagic will market the handset globally as the RedMagic 12 Pro, and the company says it will publish global specifications, pricing and availability on November 3.
