Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso Sparks Giulia Sportwagon Renderings

Alfa Romeo says it has no plans for a Giulia Sportwagon, but the Cuorerosso concept shown at the 2026 Paris Motor Show has prompted detailed CGI renderings. Instagram user @kelsonik has imagined the concept as a five door estate that keeps the show car's front end and adds a practical tailgate.

Alfa Romeo says it does not plan to launch a Giulia Sportwagon, yet the Cuorerosso concept that debuted at the 2026 Paris Motor Show has already inspired a wave of digital station wagon proposals. One of the most detailed reinterpretations arrived on Instagram from user @kelsonik, who has reimagined the show car as a five door Giulia Sportwagon.

The Cuorerosso stepped into Paris earlier in the week and the show closed on October 18, 2026. Enthusiasts and rendering artists have been quick to pick up the concept’s visual cues and translate them into other body styles, with the @kelsonik project preserving the concept’s front fascia while extending the roofline into a traditional estate shape.

From concept lines to hatch and tailgate

The CGI Giulia Sportwagon keeps the Cuorerosso’s distinctive nose, flush door handles and gold wheels, but adds a longer roof, conventional rear doors, altered rear three quarter panels and redesigned rear side windows. At the rear the artist fitted new C pillars, a practical tailgate that opens into a large cargo area and a subtle spoiler. Taillights, rear bumper, diffuser and Alfa Romeo badging largely mirror the show car, and the virtual car retains the same red paint.

Alfa Romeo has not offered a station wagon since the 159 line ended production in 2011. The 159 was built from 2004 to 2011 and was available as a four door sedan and a five door estate badged Sportwagon. That model rode on the GM Fiat Premium platform and shared underpinnings with the Brera and Spider. Engine choices originally ranged from straight four units and a V6 to three diesels, paired with five speed and six speed manuals or a six speed automatic depending on configuration.

The modern Giulia arrived in 2015 and will turn 12 years old in 2027. It remains competitive in the premium compact segment, particularly in Quadrifoglio form and in the special GTA and GTAm variants. The current Giulia is underpinned by the Giorgio platform, which it shares with the Stelvio crossover.

The Cuorerosso itself is presented as a 2 plus 2 four door and uses the same powertrain family found in the Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio. Alfa Romeo has not released a full powertrain brief for the study, but the marque lists the 2.9 liter twin turbo V6 with Ferrari DNA at 505 hp and 442 lb ft 600 Nm of torque, rising to 533 hp in GTA and GTAm versions of the Giulia.

Production for a Cuorerosso derived Giulia Sportwagon looks unlikely at present, though Alfa Romeo has said some styling cues from concept studies can carry into future models. For now the most concrete outcome of the Paris appearance is the stream of imagery and reinterpretations it has produced, including the station wagon renderings posted by Instagram user @kelsonik.

The Cuorerosso was unveiled at the 2026 Paris Motor Show before the event closed on October 18, 2026.
