A stretched, three-row version of Great Wall Motor's Tank 700 has been revealed in spy photos and Chinese regulatory filings, showing a larger body, a six-seat layout and two plug-in hybrid powertrain options.

Images, documents and sales context

Spy images and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) registration documents identify an extended Tank 700 body measuring 5,445 mm in overall length with a 3,150 mm wheelbase. The filings and images indicate two plug-in hybrid technical configurations. The photos circulated on Weibo captured the interior layout and exterior proportions referenced in the MIIT material.

Great Wall engineers have moved to lengthen the Tank 700 after the five-seat Tank 700 Hi4-T recorded 850 domestic sales in summer 2026, a month-on-month decline of 44.9% but a year-on-year increase of 70%. The Hi4-T's share of the Tank brand's total sales fell from 24.3% in June to 8.2% in September, covering the Shahrivar and Mehr reporting periods.

Dimensions and interior

Compared with the standard Tank 700, the stretched version gains 340 mm in length and 65 mm in width. Of the 340 mm length increase, 150 mm extends the wheelbase and 190 mm lengthens the rear overhang. Curb weight is listed between 3,396 and 3,480 kg, and braked towing capacity is 2,500 kg.

  • Overall length: 5,445 mm
  • Wheelbase: 3,150 mm
  • Width increase over standard: +65 mm
  • Curb weight: 3,396–3,480 kg
  • Towing capacity (with brakes): 2,500 kg

The stretched model retains the familiar Tank dashboard layout seen in the photos: a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central touchscreen and a bank of physical buttons below the centre console. The second row features two individual captain seats separated by a centre aisle, and the third row is foldable.

Powertrains, GF badge and timetable

MIIT documents confirm two plug-in hybrid powertrain structures. The first pairs a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with the Hi4-Z hybrid system, rated at 248 PS and supported by a 59.05 kWh battery that the manufacturer claims delivers a 190 km WLTC all-electric range.

The stronger configuration uses a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 producing 355 PS and mated to a nine-speed automatic; this variant carries the GF brand mark. Tank brand CEO Go Yukan said on 9 September 2026, "The GF badge stands for Great Faith and identifies a series of products focused on high technical performance, which will begin with 3.0-liter V6 powertrains." The manufacturer plans to launch the Tank 700 GF before the end of 2026.
