The Jaguar Type 01 sedan delivers 1,016 horsepower (1,030 ps/758 kW) and an EPA-rated 400 miles (644 km) of range from a 118 kWh battery on an 850-volt electrical architecture.
Unveiled in early October 2026 after being previewed by the Type 00 Concept nearly two years earlier, the Type 01 is Jaguar's first new-age production EV. The company says the model supports DC fast charging at up to 350 kW and can recharge from 10 to 80 percent in about 22 minutes.

Design and interior
Jaguar carried the concept's radical styling into production. The front fascia replaces a traditional grille with a squared, slatted, closed-off element flanked by new headlamps with integrated daytime running lights. The body sits relatively high with a low roofline; rear pillars are thick and the car lacks a conventional rear window. The rear treatment uses multiple horizontal slats that conceal light strips and a bumper that echoes the front's sculpting. Exterior renderings of a high-riding Type 01 variant were produced and shared by Instagram user sugardesign_1, who adapted the sedan's styling into crossover proportions.

Inside, Jaguar adopts a minimalist two-layer dashboard and a two-spoke steering wheel whose form was previewed on the upcoming Range Rover GT. The Type 01's four-seat layout sits beneath a large panoramic glass roof. Jaguar has kept the centre stack sparse: there is no oversized infotainment screen, a small HVAC display sits on the central spine, and an additional display at the base of the windshield provides a rearward view. Flush door handles and a large charging port on the driver-side fender are part of the production detail set.

Powertrain and performance
The Type 01 runs Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA). The fastest configuration is a tri-motor system with two motors at the rear and one at the front, producing 1,016 hp and 1,007 lb-ft (1,365 Nm) of torque. Jaguar states 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 kph) takes 3.2 seconds in that version and top speed is electronically limited to 150 mph (241 kph). Jaguar also specifies the same 118 kWh pack and 850-volt layout across the model line.

Jaguar has not confirmed a Type 01 SUV for production. To this reporting, the company has no announced plan for a Type 01 high-rider, though observers note an SUV derivative would sit in the electric upscale crossover space and could compete with vehicles such as the Bentley Torcal, Bentley’s first fully electric model.
Deliveries of the Type 01 sedan are scheduled to begin in the second half of 2027; UK pricing starts from 130,000 GBP, with U.S. entry prices understood to begin at approximately $130,000.
