Sony has unveiled the Prism Collection, a line of translucent PlayStation 5 accessories that includes DualSense wireless controllers and matching console covers, and announced preorder and release dates. Preorders begin November 10, 2026 through the PlayStation online store and retail partners; general availability is scheduled for February 4, 2027, leaving buyers nearly three months between order and delivery.

The collection ships in three semi-transparent finishes: fiery orange, emerald green and graphite grey. Sony says its designers sought to reinterpret the late 1990s trend for transparent hardware using a contemporary design language, exposing selected internal elements while keeping each version tinted.

Transparency is not purely decorative. The outer shell allows some internal components, structural ribs and assembly details to be seen. The products are not entirely colorless; every version retains a colored overlay that alters how the interior appears.

The DualSense Prism controller will cost $84.99 and the matching PS5 cover is priced at $74.99, making a same-color pair $159.98 before tax or shipping.
Sony is not the only company returning to the transparent aesthetic. Earlier in 2026 Microsoft released a special edition Xbox Series X for Xbox's 25th anniversary that drew visual cues from the original Xbox.
